What size light fixture is suitable for my dining table?

Fixture Dimensions:

  • Round shape: The fixture diameter should be between half and two-thirds of your table's width. For example, for a 40-inch (approximately 102 cm) wide table, choose a fixture with a diameter between 20 and 26 inches (about 51 to 66 cm).
  • Linear shape: The fixture length should be between half and two-thirds of your table's length. For an 80-inch (approximately 203 cm) long table, opt for a fixture between 40 and 53 inches (about 102 to 135 cm) in length.
  • Installation height: It is recommended to hang the fixture so that there is a distance of 30 to 36 inches (approximately 76 to 91 cm) between the tabletop and the bottom of the fixture. This ensures optimal lighting without obstructing the view of your guests.
What is the recommended height for installing a pendant light above a kitchen island?

To install a pendant light above your kitchen island, it is recommended to leave approximately 70 inches (177.8 cm) between the floor and the bottom of the fixture. This height ensures optimal lighting while allowing for smooth interaction between people on either side of the island without visual obstruction.

Bathroom: For a 100-square-foot bathroom, traditional bulbs require about 186 watts. With LED bulbs, a total power of approximately 28 watts is recommended due to their higher energy efficiency.

Dining Room: For a 150-square-foot space, traditional bulbs need around 279 watts. Using LED bulbs, a total of approximately 42 watts is advised.

Living Room: A 200-square-foot area requires about 372 watts with traditional bulbs. With LED bulbs, a total power of approximately 57 watts is suitable.

Kitchen: For a 120-square-foot kitchen, plan for about 223 watts with traditional bulbs, or approximately 34 watts when using LED bulbs.

Bedroom: A 100-square-foot bedroom needs around 186 watts with traditional bulbs, or approximately 28 watts with LED bulbs.

Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?

Since our clearance lighting items are final sale, it is essential to contact us quickly if you wish to modify your order. We will do our best to make the necessary changes before the supplier ships the items to our warehouse. Once the shipment has been processed, modifications or cancellations will no longer be possible.

What are the delivery times?

Orders are shipped within 14 to 21 days, as we receive them from our suppliers. Once dispatched, delivery is handled by our main carriers, Canada Post and Nationex. Shipping times typically range from 2 to 5 business days, depending on your location.

Do you deliver across Canada?

Yes, we ship to all 10 Canadian provinces. Free shipping is available for orders of $100 or more.

What are the shipping fees for orders under $100?

For orders under $100, a $14.95 shipping fee applies.

Returns and Warranty

What is your return policy?

All items sold on Lighting Outlet are FINAL SALE. Due to the nature of our clearance products, no refunds or exchanges will be granted. We encourage you to carefully review your selection before completing your purchase.

What should I do if I receive a defective or damaged product?

If you receive a defective or damaged item, please contact our customer service within 14 days of receiving your order by sending a detailed email to info@lightingoutlet.ca.

Depending on the situation:

  • Defective part: We will send you a replacement part at no additional cost.
  • Non-repairable product: We will initiate the exchange process with the supplier and send you a replacement light fixture free of charge.

Please note that Lighting Outlet is not responsible for any costs incurred due to receiving a defective or damaged item (e.g., electrician fees).

What is the warranty period for your light fixtures?

All our products come with a one-year warranty or more, depending on the specific details provided. In case of an issue, we will honor this warranty by exchanging the item. If the product is discontinued, we will issue a credit for the amount paid, which can be used towards another model on lightingoutlet.ca.
